Q: What time does the ship leave?
A: Most of the time the ships leave at 4pm. You'll have to see your confirmation to verify. Boarding generally begins around 12pm and you will get your time of boarding assigned to you close to sailing. We recommend arriving the day before just in case of flight delays
Q: What time is disembarkation?
A: We want our Sailors to be able to fully enjoy their final night with us and not feel rushed in the morning. With that, we've extended disembarkation through 10:45am to allow the most flexibility. For those traveling, we recommend booking a flight with a departure time after 12pm. Please refer to your booking confirmation for an exact disembarkation time.
Q: How do I make a special request such as meals, excess baggage?
A: If you have any special requests or need personal accommodations, please contact our Sailor Services Crew or your travel agent, and they'll be able to let the ship know precisely what you need!
Q: Can I choose a specific cabin, or will one be assigned to me?
A: In an effort to make your booking experience as seamless as possible, our web-based booking allows Sailors to choose a specific cabin category. We will then assign the best cabin available based on the selected criteria. If you wish to change your ship location, you can select a new zone on the Web based on availability. If you wish to choose a more specific cabin or suite, you can reach out to our Sailor Services Crew or your travel agent for help.
Q: How can I change or upgrade my cabin?
A: If we've got the space, you've got the spot - no strings attached. Your cabin category may be changed (up or down) at any point before 120 days prior to your voyage. Just give our Sailor Services Crew or your travel partner a shout, and we'll be happy to accommodate. After 120 days, you can upgrade your cabin all the way up to 48 hours before your voyage. Of course, applicable fare increases would apply.
Q: What amenities are included in cabins?
A: Our cabins serve as the perfect retreat for sailors offering epic comfort and style. They include:
- Roomy Rainshowers
- Mood lighting
- Clever cabin control
- 43"+ 4K flat-screen HDTV with Bluetooth connectivity for mobile phones
- In-room mini bar with ice bucket, bottle opener and glassware
- Bathroom necessities such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand wash
- In-room safe (fits 17" laptop)
- At least 4 North American (110v) and 1 European (220v) power outlets, plus 6 USB ports
- Open wardrobe space
Q: What is Virgin Voyages' cancellation policy?
A: Our cancellation policy was created to provide a better experience for our Sailors. Here's everything you need to know: If you’re booking more than 120 days prior to the start of the voyage, you have a 7-day grace period to request a full refund on your deposit and any other payments made. Refunds will be issued to your original form of payment. After the 7-day grace period (but still before the 120-day window), you can receive a full refund on any payments, excluding your deposit. For your deposit, you will receive Future Voyage Credit at this time. Between 119 and 45 days, any funds paid will be converted to Future Voyage Credit (FVC), good to use on any voyage 1 year from the original voyage start date. Sweet deal, huh? Once you’re within 44 days of your voyage, all funds paid are final. But you do have the option to send someone else in your place up to 48 hours before your voyage if you really can't sail. Please note that taxes and fees will be refunded regardless of when the booking is canceled. Have more questions? No worries. Our Sailor Services Crew or your travel agent can help walk you through the process. As always, we recommend you purchase our Voyage Protection.
Q: Can I change my voyage date?
A: We've taken great care to design an experience where our Sailors can enjoy an 18+ environment for reflection, transformation, and exploration without life’s everyday stressors. Sailors may change their voyage date up until 45 days prior to the sailing, and the new voyage date can be up to 1 year from the original sailing start date. Please keep in mind that if changing a voyage date, any bookable experiences, such as dining, Shore Things, and arrival time slots, will need to be rebooked on the new voyage date.
Q: When can I book a shore excursion?
A: All Sailors will have the ability to book shore excursions (which we like to call our "Shore Things") directly from our Sailor App, with our Sailor Services Crew or through a travel agent at least 120 days prior to their voyage start, and those booked in RockStar Quarters will get early access to book within 135 days. Payment for Shore Things will be due at the time of booking.
Q: Are passports and visas required to sail?
A: While our Sailors are free to voyage at will, some global rules for travel still apply. Our voyages require our Sailors to have a valid passport with an expiration date at least 6 months after the voyage end date. Based on your country of citizenship, some ports may also require a necessary visa to travel back into the homeport after the voyage has completed.
Q: When can I make reservations for dining, spa, tattoo and entertainment?
A: Sailors will have the ability to book dining experiences directly from our Sailor App or through a travel agent starting 45 days before departure, and our Sailors booked in Mega RockStar and RockStar Quarters will have the ability to book starting 60 days before. We're putting the final touches on our other onboard experiences, and bookings for entertainment, spa and tattoo experiences will be available on board. In the meantime, you can start planning your voyage by checking out our entertainment lineup in our Sailor App, and we will let booked Sailors know when pre-voyage bookings open up.
Q: What is the minimum age to travel?
A: Every Virgin Voyages sailing is an experience created exclusively for adults, and the minimum age to book and sail is 18 years old.
