Q: How do we get there?
A: AutoCamp Russian River is located just 90 minutes north of San Francisco in the heart of Sonoma’s wine country.
Q: Whats included in my campsite?
A: The Happier Camper unit is a small camper with a queen bed and a heater unit. It can accommodate two people and includes access to the Clubhouse bathrooms, showers, and amenities. Enjoy your own private outdoor sitting area and fire pit. Please note the Happier Camper is not pet friendly and does not have air conditioning.
Q: What is there to do for kids?
A: There are tons of fun activities for kids to enjoy! If they prefer the outdoors, we would recommend Horse N Around for horseback riding (707-875-3333) or Johnson’s Beach to float or canoe in the River (707-869-2022). Pee Wee Golf & Arcade has miniature golf and games (707-869-9321).
For indoor activities, we recommend ice skating at Snoopy’s Home Ice. The museum next door to the ice rink is the Charles M. Schulz Museum. Santa Rosa was home to the famous Peanuts cartoonist.
Q: Are there restaurants in the area?
A: There are many local restaurants in Guerneville and the surrounding area with varying cuisines. Some of our favorites include:
Big Bottom Market for local bites, lattes, and delicious biscuits
El Barrio for Mezcal cocktails and Mexican bites
BROT, modern German restaurant
Boon Eat + Drink, for seasonal local cuisine
Hazel, a staff favorite and a lovely bistro in Occidental, about 10 miles away
River’s End Restaurant, for fine dining and ocean views in Jenner
Koala’s Fine Foods, for burgers and sushi
Main Street Bistro: offers nightly cabaret entertainment and pizza
Q: What do you sell in the shop?
A: We sell food, snacks, apparel, beverages, beer, and wine in our shop. Snacks and food items include chips, cookies, charcuterie fixings, sweets, and more.
Q: How does cooking and dining work?
A: Part of the fun of visiting AutoCamp is cooking meals over a campfire. We make it easy by providing a variety of for sale food and beverage items in our Shop, as well as a fully-stocked set of cookware in each Suite. All Suites come with a fire pit with a grill.
You are welcome to bring food with you to cook onsite or pick up items at our Shop. There are also grocery stores and restaurants options in the nearby town of Guerneville.
Do the tent's have bathrooms?
A: There are no bathrooms in the Luxury Tents. However, guests staying in Luxury Tents (or the Happier Camper at Russian River) have access to the mid-century modern clubhouse bathrooms, showers, and amenities including Ursa Major shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, and hair dryers.
Q: Are pets welcome?
A: Yes! AutoCamp welcomes all well-behaved dogs with their owners for an additional fee of $75.00. There is a 2 dog maximum with a 80lb maximum weight each. Please note that not all accommodations are dog-friendly.
Dogs must be kept on a maximum, 6-foot leash under owner supervision and may not be left unattended at any time. Guests are responsible to “clean up” after their dog. All dog waste must be properly disposed of in a dog receptacle. Noisy, vicious, or unruly dogs are not allowed. AutoCamp is not responsible for, and will hold dog owner accountable, for any injury or damage caused by your dog.
Dogs may not be left unattended at any time in your accommodation. There are no exceptions to this rule.
We offer doggie relief stations around the property. Pet Owners are required to bring their pets to one of these stations. All dog waste must be disposed of by the owner. There are trash cans located throughout the property for your convenience and dog waste bags are provided. Please do not let your dog urinate on the grass, as it kills the grass.
