7 Day Greece Yachting – Athens

from $1,999pp

Greece - Yachting
Day 1 :
  • Upon arrival in Athens you’ll be picked up and driven to your boat to meet your skipper. You’ll be given a tour of the boat and go over safety and boating practices. After your briefing you’ll either spend the night here or set sail to Epidaurus where you will dock or anchor for the evening.
Day 2 :
  • Sleep in and come up deck when you’re ready for breakfast and fresh fruit. Head ashore to visit some of the local shops. Next stop, the sunken sea where you can snorkel the remains of an ancient underwater ruin. Head back to port in the afternoon or anchor in a quiet cove. As the sun sets you’ll head back to the boat where you can gaze at the stars.
Day 3 :
  • You’ll most likely awake this morning with the boat already in motion to your next destination. You’ll stop along the way in some deserted coves to swim and enjoy some private beaches. Towards the end of the day you’ll dock in Poros and head ashore for a traditional Greek diner.
Day 4 :
  • After your breakfast rent some ATV’s to explore the island for the day. You can hop the ferry with the ATV’s and head to Galatas to Devil’s Bridge where you can hike and swim in the waterfalls. Head back to the boat to make dinner or venture out for an evening walk and have some gelato.
Day 5 :
  • Today you’ll sail to Hydra. One of Greece’s hidden gem islands. This was probably our favorite island. Vehicles(including bikes) are prohibited. The only was to get around is either walking or by donkey. Stroll through the alleys and narrow streets and visit the local shops. Watch the sun set from one of the many swim areas along it’s coast. When night falls you will enjoy it’s bustling nightlife. Walk along the cliffs and visit the many restaurants and bars. Dance and drink the night away and stagger back to the boat when you’ve had enough!
Day 6 :
  • Set sail back towards Athens, stopping at the many private coves for a little privacy and water sports. As it gets late in the day you’ll find a nice deserted cove to anchor for your last night. Watch the stars and sleep on the deck if the weather permits.
Day 7 :
  • Wake up and sail back to Athens. Lounge on the deck or rest below as your trip comes to a close. Take a last dip in the Mediterranean and when you arrive you’ll be taken to the airport for your flight home.

Q: Can you give me general pricing breakdown and information?
A: Here is a quick snapshot of the costs you should expect to pay. ----- Boats generally range from $4k-14k depending on the size and type ----- Skipper approx - $1.5k for the week ----- Chef/Hostess approx - $1.2k for the week ----- Half board meals(2 meals a day) approx $50 per day per person(we recommend this) ----- Fuel cost varies based on how much you choose to sail vs motor and how much you use the generator. Expect it to be about $200-$600 for the week for a monohull and about $500-$1,000 for the bigger catamarans ----- For parties that want just the boat and skipper you should expect to pay about $2k per person for parties of 4 or more and about $2.5-3k per person if you want the works.
Q: What time can we board the ship?
A: Generally it's a 4pm boarding time on the day your trip starts.  We can request an early check-in and sometimes there is a charge for that.  You'll most likely spend the night in the marina and leave the following morning early on your journey.
Q: What time do we depart the boat on our last day?
A: 9am and you will most likely arrive back in port the night before.
Q: Do we have to stick to the itinerary?
A: No, the itinerary is just a suggestion.  You will discuss with your captain what you'd like to do and many times they know a lot more hidden gems.  You're welcome to stay as little or as long at any stop.
Q: How do we book activities?
A: We can always help you with that.  We found most of the time we liked to be flexible and not stick to a hard schedule so much of the time travelers figure out what they want to do when they get there.
Q: Can we scuba dive off the boat?
A: This varies from vendor to vendor but most of the time it's not a great idea.  It's best to plan ahead and go with an instructor on the island.
Q: We have pre and post travel we want to book.  Can you help with that?
A: Yes, reach out directly to us and we can handle the rest of your journey, including flights.
Q: How do we get to and from the boat?
A: Most of the time your transfer are included(see what's included) and we will need your flight or hotel information.
Q: How does food work?
A: If you add a chef and meals to your itinerary the chef will prepare them for you.  There are two choices, half board(2 meals a day) and full board(3 meals).  We suggest half board as you will most likely eat at least one meal on the island.
Q: Are tips included?
A: No, feel free to tip as you feel is deserved.
Q: How does the fuel cost work?
A: It depends on use.  Think of it like a car rental.  You fill as needed.  Depending on the size of the boat will depend how much it burns, but sailboats generally don't use much.   You should estimate an extra $100-$150 USD per person per week.
