Note: You fly into Belize City and have the option to have the hotel pick you up and drive you to the resort or you can take a quick flight or rent a car and drive yourself. This is an additional cost and we can arrange it for you. All activities can be booked ahead of time through the hotel, which we can do for you or you can do when you get there.

DAY 1

Day 1 :

Upon arrival at Belize City International airport you’ll make your way via flight, car service or car rental to your hotel. You also have the option to fly to their private runway just steps away from the property. After a speedy check-in and tour you will be shown to your room. Eat at the restaurant, visit the gardens or take a stroll down to the river and enjoy the waterfalls. Take the rest of the day to relax .

DAY 2

Day 2 :

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast, followed by a tour of the ancient Mayan temples. and a canoeing tour of the Mayan caves. Head back to the resort and spend more time at the river and waterfalls. After dinner you’ll have the treat of spending time with one of the local magicians enjoying his many amazing card and hand tricks.

DAY 3

Day 3 :

After breakfast you’ll get a private tour of the butterfly sanctuary and learn from the owner about his conservation with wildlife that he has dedicated his life to. Finish the day off with some zip lining through the jungle. Listen to the Howler monkeys as you fly through the trees.

DAY 4

Day 4 :

After breakfast you will venture off property on a hike to a 100ft waterfall. Spend the afternoon lounging around it’s many pools and have lunch. Back at the resort you can sit by the campfire and stare at the stars.

Day 5 :

After a light breakfast maybe take a last dip in the river before it’s time to leave for the airport.

Q: What is the best time of year to go?

A: Belize has two distinct wet and dry seasons. The dry season typically occurs December through May and the wet season June through November. In the tropics, rain can occur any time of year, but during the dry season rain falls in brief bursts.

Q: Is Belize safe?

A: Belize is a safe country. The big cities have crime like any other city but the resorts we work with are very safe.

Q: Do they speak good English in Belize?

A: Funny enough, English is their first language. Many people speak Spanish but English is the primary.

Q: Are mosquitos a problem?

A: There are mosquitos in the jungle areas. The hotels generally have a good supply of bug spray to offer but it might be good to bring some.

Zip Lining - Gaia

Gliding over 1,750 feet above the canopy of our rainforest, this tour gives you a unique perspective on Belize. Lots of fun and adventure and a real adrenaline rush!

Caracol Tour - Gaia

Our first stop on this day tour, the newly excavated ancient Mayan site of Caracol is located deep in the Chiquibul Rainforest. The Mayans once ruled over the areas surrounding Tikal in Guatemala, and the ruins date back to the 7th century AD. The tour also visits the Rio Frio Cave where ancient Mayans once performed religious rituals. Finally, the tour stops at Rio On, where adventurers can swim in the cool, refreshing waters.

Macal River & Archaeological Tour - Gaia

This full-day tour starts with a canoe ride down the Macal River, which flows through the twin towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena, allowing visitors to observe a variety of local birds, orchids and green iguanas in their natural habitat. You will then head for lunch at one of San Ignacio’s local restaurants. The tour later continues to the archaeological site of Xunantunich, one of whose highlights is a wonderful view of El Castillo. At 130 feet above the main plaza, this site consists of 6 major Mayan plazas and 25 temples.

Horseback Riding - Gaia

You will be driven to the stable in San Antonio, 30 minutes from the lodge. From there, gallop through the rainforest, visiting Mayan plazas and ceremonial sites, including Skeleton Cave. Stop to do some cave exploration and learn about the area’s biodiversity from our knowledgeable guide, then finish the day at Big Rock Falls, where you can take a refreshing dip before heading back to the lodge.

Cave Tubing - Gaia

Float on rubber tubes over crystal-clear waters, through majestic caverns with breathtaking stalagmite and stalactite formations. This tour is only available in combination with transfers between Belize City and the lodge.
